About the practiceMeet Dr. Terrance Wolbaum
A Colorado-trained dentist who placed his first implants caring for veterans, taught dental students, and has looked after Aurora families at Pioneer Hills for more than a decade.
Trained for the hard cases, happiest with the routine ones
Dr. Wolbaum earned his dental degree at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, then completed a General Practice Residency at the San Francisco VA Medical Center, where he treated veterans with complex medical histories and placed his first implants. He went on to coordinate implant care for an underserved clinic in Greeley and taught dental students before opening Pioneer Hills Dental.
He completed the Misch Implant Fellowship, one of the most respected surgical implant programs in the country, and continues his training through the Dawson Academy in bite and jaw-joint care. The result is a general dentist who can handle a full-arch implant case on Tuesday and a child's first filling on Wednesday.

What you can expect from us
Honest diagnoses
If a tooth does not need treatment, we say so. If it does, we show you the photo or X-ray and explain why. You will never be sold a treatment plan.
Time with the dentist
One dentist, not a rotating cast. Dr. Wolbaum does your exam, your treatment and your follow-up, and knows your history without reading the chart.
No surprises on the bill
Costs and insurance estimates are written down before any work starts, and we check in before anything changes.
Comfort first
Topical anesthetic before every injection, blankets, headphones, and nitrous or oral sedation for patients who need it.
Real emergency care
We hold time every weekday for patients in pain, including people who have never been here before.
Continuing education
Dr. Wolbaum trains well beyond the state requirement so that implants, Invisalign and sleep appliances can be done here rather than referred out.
The tools that make treatment faster and more predictable
Technology does not replace judgment, but it does let us see more, guess less and finish in fewer visits.
Cone-beam 3D imaging (CBCT)
A 3D scan of the jaws that shows bone volume, nerves and sinuses in detail a flat X-ray cannot. Every implant is planned on it before surgery.
Digital intraoral scanner
Replaces impression trays for crowns, Invisalign, night guards and implant restorations. More accurate, and no gagging.
Digital X-rays
About 80% less radiation than film, viewed on the screen immediately and shared with specialists in seconds.
Intraoral camera
A pen-sized camera that shows you a crack or worn filling on the monitor, so you see the reason behind a recommendation.
Guided implant surgery
For complex cases, a surgical guide printed from your 3D scan positions each implant to the planned angle and depth.
Nitrous oxide and oral sedation
Options for anxious patients and longer procedures, so one long visit can replace several short ones.
