What Problems Can Develop If You Don't Address Crooked Teeth?
Gum Disease
Cavities, tooth decay, and even gum disease often result from poor brushing and flossing habits. For patients with crooked and crowded teeth, properly brushing all surface areas and flossing in between each tooth can be difficult, but Invisalign can help you clean your straight teeth with ease.
Worn Enamel
If you have an underbite, overbite, crossbite, or another form of misalignment, you may find that your teeth touch on certain parts of your dental arch and not on others. This uneven distribution can cause you to overuse the teeth that touch while you bite and chew, resulting in worn enamel, sensitivity, and more.
TMJ Disorder
The temporomandibular joint can become inflamed from uneven use of the jaw muscles due to misalignment. For example, if you overexert one side of your mouth chewing, you risk disrupting your TMJ joint. Left untreated, this may result in a TMJ disorder, which can come with uncomfortable symptoms and lead to oral health problems.

View On GoogleI'm terrified of the dentist, as many people are. It took me a long time to schedule this appointment with the prodding of my husband, and I chose Pioneer because a co-worker referred me. They were warm, welcome, and friendly from the get go and they set up a clear treatment plan. They also contacted my insurance to find out what was covered and how much I would expect to pay out of pocket. They were calm and comforting through the entire process, and I can honestly say that most of my fears of following through with my treatment plan are alleviated. I'm glad I chose them.

Dr. Wolbaum in Aurora may recommend this solution if you meet certain requirements:
Mild to Moderate Misalignment
Invisalign treatment is best for patients with mild to moderate cases of misalignment. For more severe cases, braces may be recommended.
Good Oral Health
Patients must be in good oral health before beginning treatment. Any cavities or infections must be addressed and treated before starting the Invisalign process.
Commitment
Invisalign patients must be committed to wearing their aligners for 20 to 22 hours every day. This ensures the best results and reduces the likelihood of needing to prolong treatment.
No Teeth Grinding
Bruxism can wear down aligners and negatively affect treatment. Patients who grind their teeth may be better suited for braces.

Attachments Can Help.
Invisalign aligners are scalloped at the gum line to blend seamlessly with your smile. This natural appearance is a great benefit but can lessen the force that's applied to the teeth. Invisalign works around this drawback by offering attachments.
Invisalign attachments are small tooth-colored bumps that are bonded to the teeth. We offer these attachments at our Aurora office for patients with moderate to complex cases of misalignment that could use an extra boost.
What to Expect during Treatment
Aurora, CO, patients trust Dr. Wolbaum to refine their smiles with Invisalign. He provides a convenient treatment plan centered around their schedule and needs, offering extended hours for busy patients.
How Frequent Are Check-Ups?
How often you come back to our office for our dentist to your progress will depend on your unique Invisalign case. Generally, follow-up appointments happen every two to six weeks. These follow-up appointments allow Dr. Wolbaum to ensure your results are developing as planned and make adjustments to the course of your treatment, if needed. We work with you along the way to ensure your desired results are met by the end of your treatment.
Consider Teeth Whitening After Invisalign Treatment
Our office offers professional teeth whitening procedures for our patients. To compliment your new, straight smile, consider whitening your teeth to address any stains or discoloration distracting from their beauty.
Maintaining Your New Smile
After you have achieved your dream smile, it is important to maintain it. Patients wear their last set of Invisalign aligners or retainers to bed every night. This keeps your teeth in position and prevents any shifting from occurring. Meanwhile, it’s essential to keep up with routine dental visits, brush and floss regularly, and to maintain good oral hygiene.

What Is the Cost of Invisalign?
The cost of an Invisalign treatment plan depends on your individual case and needs. This is different for each patient; the main factor is the extent of treatment needed. Mild cases of misalignment usually cost less and are quicker than more complex cases. In comparison, moderate cases may cost more due to an extended treatment time and needing more aligners. We are upfront about our costs and will provide an accurate estimate during your office visit.
Our office in Aurora accepts most dental insurance plans. If you are uninsured or your plan does not cover Invisalign, we partner with CareCredit®, a third-party lender that offers low-interest and interest-free financing. If you have any questions about the process, our staff is happy to assist you.
Does Invisalign Hurt?
Traditional braces are known for the pain and discomfort they cause, especially after adjustments. Invisalign aligners are much more comfortable, and unlike braces, you take them out for up to four hours a day.
As you get used to your newest set of aligners, they may cause minor discomfort. However, you can alleviate that discomfort with an over-the-counter pain relief option, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
After you adjust to wearing your latest set of Invisalign aligners, you will probably forget you are wearing them most of the time. In fact, you will be able to sleep comfortably in them, straightening your teeth overnight.
