General and family dentistry in Aurora

One office for the whole family

Cleanings, exams, fillings, sealants and children's visits in the same place, on the same day if you like. Dr. Wolbaum has looked after Aurora families for more than a decade.

Most of what keeps teeth healthy is not dramatic: a cleaning twice a year, X-rays when they are due, a small filling before it becomes a big one. We schedule families together so a Tuesday afternoon covers everyone.

What we do every day

Cleanings and exams

A hygienist removes tartar and polishes, Dr. Wolbaum checks every tooth and your gums, and we screen for oral cancer at every visit.

Digital X-rays

A fraction of the radiation of film, on screen immediately so you see what we see.

Tooth-colored fillings

Composite fillings bonded to the tooth, matched to its shade. We do not place silver amalgam.

Gum care

Deep cleanings and periodontal maintenance for patients with gum disease, which affects nearly half of adults over 30.

Root canals

Done here, usually in one visit, to save a tooth with an infected nerve. Patients are surprised how routine it is.

Extractions and wisdom teeth

Simple and surgical extractions in-house, with sedation available for anxious patients.

Night guards and sport guards

Custom-fitted guards that protect against grinding at night and impacts on the field.

Teeth whitening

Custom trays with professional-strength gel for results that drugstore strips do not reach.

Children

We see children from their first birthday. Early visits are short and mostly about getting comfortable in the chair. From there we add fluoride, sealants on the molars when they come in, and advice on thumbs, pacifiers and sports guards. Kids who grow up at the dentist without a bad experience become adults who keep their teeth.

Anxious patients

If a bad visit years ago has kept you away, say so when you book. We will take it slowly, explain everything before we do it, and offer nitrous oxide or oral sedation for longer procedures. Nobody here will lecture you about how long it has been.

Common questions

How often should I come in?

Every six months for most people. Patients with gum disease, a lot of dental work or dry mouth do better every three to four months.

Do you take my insurance?

We accept most PPO plans and file the claim for you. See insurance and payment, or call and we will check your plan.

What if I do not have insurance?

Our membership plan covers two cleanings, exams and X-rays for one yearly fee, plus 10% off other treatment.
